A small text file the browser stores at a website’s request, so the site can recognize the same visitor from one page to the next. Without one, every click would arrive as a stranger, and a shopping cart would empty itself between pages.
Fewer than you might expect, and all in service of the shop working. A cart cookie keeps your chosen covers in the cart for up to 30 days, so a decision postponed is not a decision lost. Session cookies hold the checkout together while you move through it and expire when the browser closes. A small preference cookie may remember choices such as a dismissed notice. None of these builds an advertising profile of you.
During payment, PayPal‘s checkout may set its own cookies to run its service securely; those are governed by its policy rather than ours. We do not embed advertising networks that follow you across other websites.
Yes. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies for this site or all sites, in its privacy settings. The trade-off is functional rather than punitive: with the cart and session cookies blocked, the cart forgets its contents and checkout cannot complete. Browsing and reading the site works fine without any of them.
